Any interest in a tour of the U.S. Capitol at DC '09?

Post by JimHow »

We were talking about doing this during DC '07 but never got around to scheduling it. It's a pretty fun tour if you've never done it before. Back in the day I could get down onto the Senate floor and touch Henry Clay's desk, etc., and dine in the Senate dining room, I don't know if I can still get access to those places but it doesn't hurt to ask.

If anyone is interested it might be a fun thing to do on Friday afteroon.

Kathy says sure

I would think with the two moderate Rep senators from Maine you could pull something off

Yes, I'd like to, assuming I'll be there of course. I'll know within the next week...

If you have time try the Zoo. Try and get to the thing what has the tropical 'forest' in a green house. Kinda Amazing.

If you like jazz try and get to Madam's Organ in the Adam's Morgan district.

And never neglect the Smithsonian. US History to the Art museum. Must be twenty or so of them there on the mall.

The capital and such used to be fun, can't estimate the hassle of body cavity searches and such they demand now. Just glad I had a tour of the White House by Vice President Bush back in the 80's. He shook hands with everyone.

Damn beautiful if you get the chance.
