TN: 2005 Jadot Beaune Premier Cru

Post by JimHow »

I had this again last night. It is a superb representation of Burgundy. It is just so pure and smooth, with just enough structure to give it some backbone and ageworthiness. The cherry sensations on the nose and palate are just so lovely. A perfectly balanced effort, I actually have enjoyed this a notch better than the '05 Jadot Couacheaux and Ursules. I have over a case of this remaining and might even pick up a few more bottles. I've had it about a half dozen times now and it has not disappointed each time. it will age very well for at least a decade. Rating: 91 points.

This wine is available for $32 at Sherry-Lehman ($40 at Zachy's). Not as good a deal as the $10 per half bottle we were paying in NH last summer, but a fair price nonetheless for an excellent QPR Burgundy.
