TN: 2000 Château Beausejour (Duffau Lagarrosse)

Post by jal »

  • 2000 Château Beausejour (Duffau Lagarrosse) - France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru (10/4/2010)
Good nose, good shiny color, wine is bright and lively but lacks a bit of focus and purity, a little disjointed and the fruit disappears after the open. Too bad, I expected a lot more. (88 pts.)

Maybe other vintages raised your expectations too high.

I tasted that wine this summer, and would be a bit more enthusisatic about it, than you Jal. the thing is that it is a more restrained and traditionnal Bordeaux style, than the average Bordeaux made now that is a bit more flashy. But when you analyze that 2000 Chateau Beauséjour-Duffau, it is fruity, and strong mineral at the same time. I notice that the liquid was a bit ''trouble'' when i tried it, so no/low filtration?
