Perhaps a bit young but those should both be fine wines. Awaiting your impressions.

Looking for a trick Jim. A should be Volnay and B Cantemerle. Wouldn't believe a 2005 Bordeaux would be as pale as A.Waiting for the notes.

It's a little confusing, Danny, I have Wine B listed first and Wine A listed second.
You are right, the darker Wine A (the second one shown here) is the Cantemerle. Wine B, shown first, is the Volnay.
Boy, both of these wines, the Burgundy in particular, really reacted positively, and very quickly, to exposure to oxygen.
Each typifies its region.
Need to examine them more....

Would help if I read the labels A & B.

The colors on both are really beautiful in their own ways.

I have never been a huge fan of Cantemerle. The Volnay should be rocking!!

No doubt, B is the volnay. This should be a fun night for you Jim.

2002 Premier Cru's are probably still too young. Mine are in hibernation. PN benefits greatly from air and is never a pop and pour for me.

I've enjoyed my Volnays very young, I've consumed the vintages of 2005, 2006, and 2007 shortly after they've hit the shelves, and have found them elegant and aromatic, with great classic raspberry and black cherry pinot noir fruit. These are wines that can be enjoyed in their youth and for decades to come. The 2002 Fremiet continued to evolve beautifully this evening.
