***BWE Hotel: Washington Hilton***

Post by JimHow »

Rob/Sue and I have booked our rooms at the Washington Hilton, 1919 Connecticut Ave., NW, Washington, DC.

Room rates are $129 per night for this four-star hotel. That's $147.94 per night with taxes included, for a total of $443.82 for three nights.

I will be arriving on Thursday March 29th and leaving on Sunday April 1st.

This is a peak weekend during cherry blossom week, so book your rooms now, as rates are increasing daily!

Looking good. I hope people book their rooms before rates go up!
That cherry blossom festival makes me nervous. Rates have risen pretty steadily in the past couple weeks.

The **** Dupont/National Zoo now on Hotwire again for $73/night is the very same Hilton Washington.
Those of you who book at $73 have more money to spend on wine.

Amenities are listed Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet.

You are an amazing man, hm$.
Sign up, BWEers! Sign up like the wind!
Also, based on Tom's most recent count of payments,it sounds like we have 3-4 seats still remaining!
How can you go wrong for a lovely spring weekend in cherry tree blooming Washington DC with amazing wines and friends! It would be about 10 times as much in the Caribbean!

Dupont/National Zoo? Would I have to share a room with the orangutans? :D

Seriously, though, great work as always Howard. I'm not too bummed I spent more - I'll get points and maybe even a Hilton Honors upgrade to a suite we can use as a party room. :fingers crossed:

Already prepaid at $129...sigh...I'll help folks drink the vino they buy with their savings!?!?!?

But I did check all of the boxes for upgrade-at-checkin, so here's hoping for the Presidential Suite!!!

Thanks HM$. In at $73 per. Knowing your track record, I waited and it worked. See you in DC.

Well good one Howard.
I'm just glad we are booked and all seem together.
In the end the hotel cost is not so much when you consider the market value and oppurtinity to gather and drink the wines we do.
And then I save my money buying a few tanks of gas and having a liesurely drive up thru NC\VA where I grew up. :D Not so bad.
I stop at a bike shop in Greensboro and see a 40 year freind/owner.
I covet a ROBERTS custom time trail frame he'll never sell me. I have two custom ROBERTS now. A road frame and a criterium race frame. Lot of miles and memories with riding with my bro's.
We eat nice Lexinton BBQ.
Back on the road telling stories of bike riding and growing up.
Jamming on the blues on XM.
A great road trip all and all.

You guys that save 50.00/night had better bring the best wines.

Jim can you make that a BD decree?

But Howard you are "Da Man" in the rate department.' :D

Is everybody in? Welcome Happy Hour in the Benevolent Dictator's room at 4pm on Thursday. Can't wait to see you all in the nation's capital! We'll do a Friday and Saturday morning walk around the monuments, for anyone who is interested.
