How long of a train ride is it, anyway, from NYC to DC?

It's about 3 hours, I think, a little faster on the Acela (but a lot more expensive).

Would love to see some of our NYC and Carolina friends...

Even though the "deadline" has passed, the room can hold up to 10-12 more people, and we can add people up to a week or so before the event.

Thanks Gail.

I'll be happy to see you and Tom.

And yes, I would be happy to see more people from NYC. And, of course, the Dayton.

This is shaping up nicely. Jim, do I need to prepare an after diner speach? Not that I like to do that, but what is funny, the great people I meet and the nice wines during dinner, always inspire me.

It would not be a BWE convention, Nic, without the words from Jean-Nicolas Maltais, a tradition that began at the very first convention in Chicago '01.

I'm really looking forward to seeing you and all our BWE friends in DC.

Looks like we have 26 attendees who have paid, a nice sized group.
Timmy McCracken, how's it looking, do you think you'll be able to join us?

Where's the thread for what wines to bring for Saturday night? I know it's the 1980's, but I cannot find the thread.

Thanks.

It's here. There's a link in the initial post in this thread, but it didn't really show up well - I highlighted it.

Will we need to be making our choices from the dinner menu soon?

Chris - everyone will be able to order off of the limited menu in the original post, so all of those choices will be available.

Charlie Palmer's Steakhouse hit the bullseye with our BWE banquet a couple of years ago.
I'll bet that everyone will be just as pleased this time as well. We'll miss seeing everyone.
Enjoy the weekend festivities.

It was indeed a great venue, Steve. DC during cherry blossom season really breathes life into you after a harsh New England winter.

I heard on the local radio that the experts are predicting an early peak for the cherry blossoms - April 2-4. If they are right, this should align perfectly with our festivities.

Hey guys, I think its pretty evident now that I won't be able to head over there. First one I've missed in years. But I'll definitely participate in the VLT and hopefully will see everyone next year at the anniversary dinner!

Cheers,

Tim

Dobar dan, Tim,

Sorry to hear that you won't attend, Tim -- we'll miss you. We need to have another convention on your side of the pond again soon!

Ciao,
Gail and Tom

By the way, I hope if anyone on BWE comes over to Paris, please give me a buzz, would love to meet up.
