2010 Avignonesi Cantaloro
The base red bottling from a producer that's more known for their Vino Nobile di Montepulciano wines. Website says mostly cabernet and merlot, with small portion of sangiovese. A fine effort, fruity but balanced with fresh herbs and mineral notes. A decent QPR at $15. B+
1997 Castello di Verrazzano Chianti Classico Riserva
A fine wine from one of Tuscany's better producers. A bottle with sustained freshness from layers of red berries and nice acidity. Married well with sauteed Italian sausages dinner. Wish I had patiently aged my other CCRs. A-
2009 Tenuta di Valgiano Palistorti, Colline Lucchesi
Captivating fresh flowers and earthy bouquet. Layers of sweet black and blue berries and reminds of a modern Right Bank Bordeaux. Long finish. Wouldn't mind sampling other wines from this bio-dynamic producer. B+
TN: Some nice Tuscans
