Quite unbelievable.
The contractors can't tell the difference between the Chateau and the outhouse.

No problem. There are way too many Ch. Bellevues in Bordeaux.

But it looks like this is "de Bellevue." For a second I thought this had something to do with the consolidation of St. Emilion properties around the Magdelaine/"Bellevue" (i.e. Belair) area.

I love the strategy, Hound: change your name or be demolished! Which Leoville should be in the sights? :-)

Yes, I saw this in the local paper.

Proof that there is truly no limit to human stupidity.

Do you really think that could really happen? Sounds a little fishy. The guy must have been blocked to do the renos that he wanted or he found out that he couldn't do what he wanted with the building because of legal or prohibitive financial constraints and felt it would be easier/cheaper to have some apparent idiots tear down the wrong building and collect the insurance payout. I bet he wanted to level the place in reality! Just a thought because its so bizarre.
