Took down some 2008 Domaine de Chevalier Rouge

Post by AlohaArtakaHoundsong »

While waiting for canoe club practice. What's a guy to do? But I see it's going to need 10 years to unfold.

Ah, I think I miss interpreted what you meant by "took down." But just to further enable you and make sure you don't feel outside the community, I too picked up some DomChev today. In my case, 3 bottles of the 05. Very little left here and I wanted to get my share! :-)

Been thinking about buying some of the '08 myself. Bought some '09 - though pricier, it's incredible (had it as last year's UGC and popped a bottle a few weeks ago).

The 06 was quite weighty/substantial but youthful and with youthfully boring old school flavors and no exciting confectionary or fruity elements, but darned if I didn't convince myself that maybe there was a bit of pine pitch in it. It's that profile which gave me confidence to "take down" a few of the 08.

I've read more than one review of DomChev over the years that claims to detect a bit of pine in it. Also things like smoke, graphite, cedar, leather, tobacco, tea, gravel, menthol, etc. And while certain fruits are also mentioned, rarely is it described as confected or fruit forward. Think I just talked myself into picking up a few more bottles!

See, you pick them up from the bin, I take them down from the shelf (or virtually take them down off the website is more correct). It just depends on where in the store they're located.

I guess that works where wine is concerned, the two expressions being roughly synonymous. However, if the object of the verb is women . . .

"Object" not in the grammatical sense.

And there's always Suzanne. She'll take you down to the river. You can even touch her perfect body, but only with your mind, mind you!
