- 1996 Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste - France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac (4/13/2009)
Absolutely classic Pauillac. Lots of sediment. Ruby/purple color. Loads of ripe, ripe black fruit. Lengthy finish. Powerful cedary bouquet. Only one problem: It requires another ten years. Still a baby, at age thirteen. Delicious now, will be considerably better in a decade and beyond. (92 pts.)

Well,
I'll leave my full case in the storage unit for much longer.

It is wines like this that give Pauillac the edge by a whisker over St. Julien in my book.
Of course, I'll drink a great St. Julien next week and conclude just the opposite.
