  • 1998 Château Bahans Haut-Brion - France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan (7/18/2009)
a very enjpoyable wine, drinks nice right out of the bottle
some tannins but very integrated and smooth, a lilltle smoke/cigar, lots of cherry throughout including some sour cherry, medium weight, the finish was moderate with a short middle.......this wine is likely peaked and it is a very good time to drink it.....I am moving my last remaining bottles up to the drink in near term stack (89 pts.)

Gary,

1998 Bahans is on the short list of legendary 2nd wines. I'd expect a 3L to be drinking really well at BWE 2019 or so...
