For my part, brought back two perfect condition bottles of 1990 Chateau Lagrange, from DC. At the actual price I paid for that great Saint-Julien (who end up second in the blind tasting at 2001 BWE convention, between 1989 Lynch Bages and 1989 Pichon Baron), i'm very satisfied.
And 1 bottle of 2012 Rauzan Ségla took the road to Maine with Jim, to drink somewhere in 2027-2030...

In that case one can only hope that it’s an RV with a decent sized wine fridgeDavidG wrote:I realized how fortunate I am when I read a post over on WB today by a guy who said his wife just had a come to Jesus talk with him about the size of his cellar and their retirement plans to go full-time RVing.
Or perhaps even better yet, a refridgerated trailer so they can still sit together while on the road though after he sells off his wine collection maybe that kind of compromise will be off the tableDavidG wrote:I’d start negotiating for a second RV dedicated solely to wine storage.

If you want to try a bottle of the Canon when you pick it up I could contribute a bottle of the 2005 Canon to pair with it. Of course both bottles are probably vinfanticide to drink so I can't in good conscience recommend it.DavidG wrote:I haven’t tasted any of these yet. Those Canons deserve to be allowed to mature. If I were rich enough to buy a case I'd open one.marcs wrote:If you want to try a bottle of the Canon when you pick it up I could contribute a bottle of the 2005 Canon to pair with it. I just suggested the Canon because I saw I had some earlier vintages in case you wanted to make a vertical. Not wed to 2005 at all, frankly the 2005s are still too young right now. Got any number of other options to open, let's connect close to the day to figure out what.DavidG wrote: I’ve got a few 2005 right bankers to match a 2005 Canon, or something from 1995 which will be a lot closer to mature.
I forgot to mention that these were each in case quantities, sourced ex-domaine. Happily, the bank approved a second and third mortgage on my house to enable this purchase.Racer Chris wrote:liar
