"Palette" versus "Palate."

So I was on the NH liquor store site this evening, and I saw the below advertisement concerning expanding your "palette."
Now, normally, I wouldn't consider this a big deal.
But I see the term "palette" used over and over again to describe "palate."
Not just here but on other wine web sites.
And as recently as this evening on the NH site.
This needs to stop.

At first I thought Jim was taking the NH outlet to task for ignorance. Then I realized that the picture is an ad for an art museum benefit and the wine glass is standing on an artist's palette. This was an intentional pun. My bad for assuming the worst.

Some of this is the wide spread usage of spell checkers. They can fix simple things, but not when a word is used incorrectly.

Go to any interweb chat board and just observe how many people cannot properly deploy 'lose' vs. 'loose'

And you'll observe that the NH license plate is 'Live Free or Die' not 'Live Free and Spell Properly'
