Potel Burg 05

Post by dstgolf »

Morey St Denis Nicolas Potel 2005 went down very nicely with garlic saged roast porc loin this week. Beautiful depth full bodied and dark almost black atypical for most Burgs. Lovely concentration and balance good length with lots of ripe tannins. Still a little young to drink but for a Village wine but this was very nice. I have to bow to Jim that this was one Village wine that was definitely a cut above most that I've had for 2005 but the price tag didn't reflect that of a Village wine at $53 cdn or $49us. Nice to see that we're closing in on the greenback again. We had dropped back to $.85 and now are almost at $.93. Hopefully by Howerama we'll be close to par!!

I've got quite a few '05 Potel wines, but not the MSD, which sounds really nice. I wonder if I passed because of the price...

Thanks for the notes on the Potel, Danny.
I was swept up with the '05 vintage bandwagon that I purchased a 3-pack of the Potel Volnay Santenots.. I hope they turn out as nice as the MSD
