Dark garnet red color, black reflections. Dramatic Nose: black cherries and cinnamon. Strong body. The first sip was suberb. Dark cherries, dried plums, cinnamon, smoke, Very much Pessac. Still very tannic, which deminishes the pleasure, Currently this wine is about 91 points.
My bet is this wine will evolve dramaticly. I see it at 95 in 10 years.
TN: Pape Clement 1999 Pessac
Re: TN: Pape Clement 1999 Pessac
Thanks for the notes.
It seems to me that Pape Clément went through an over-oaked phase, but that it has come well and truly out of it and is a fantastic wine.
Can't those 99s be just lucious?
All the best,
Alex R.
