Two million bottles valued at ten million pounds.
Couldn't have been high end stuff.
Still, a major loss.

A better payout from insurance than from trying to sell it?

Maybe they just want to get out of the whole business - inventory, distribution, warehouse property etc.

I can't imagine that being a middleman in a commodity biz (low end wine) is such a lush enterprise.
