Elio Grasso Ginestra Casa Mate Barolo 2004
ITNOS, I drink thee. You are an intriguing Italian beauty, with an alluringly pale color which reveals your Piedmontese heritage. Your perfume is lifted, exotic and complex, with scents of incense, cinnamon, rose water, and orange spice tea. There is also something carnal, like fur and funk.  Your body is lean and toned with no fat nor overt sex appeal; you are cut from an athletic mold which gives you an elegant, classy impression. To taste you is a treat, your fruit firm, fresh yet sweet like fresh bing cherries. You leave a lingering flavor with terrific intensity and length, it is hard to forget you. Despite your youth, you are surprisingly developed. Perhaps you are in store for an awkward adoloscence, but your are lovely today.  If reduced to a crass score, a perfect 10 you are not, but I'll give you a 92.

So, are you marrying it? Thanks for the notes ... I'll look out for it in these parts.

The last glass is the best, Ramon, with very nice glycerin and classic Barolo flavors. This is young, but it's drinking really well right now. I've little experience with Nebbiolo, but this seems classic and classy and it will probably improve a lot. Given pricing in 2009, the $46 I paid seems like a good deal.
