My allocated tranche of six was low-30s. This post-release was $45.

A few bottles of 2013 Super Substance Merlot, Washington State.

I feel like i don't have enough patience to wait for modern vintages Bordeaux 25 years...

Good grab Bill.

And all 2016 are a good buy, will be good forever. i guess especially Branaire as I've always liked it on other vintages. I have some 2018 and 2019 reserved.

Remember that Branaire we drank, Nicola, in the lobby of the hotel in Napa back in '02, with a man known as Setab, I want to say it was a 1995, no?

Normally, i have a good "wine memory", but not for this one. But something I remember well is that setab was a fan and promoter of the 1995 vintage, so I guess you're right Jim.

Yes, me, you, and Setab drank a 1995 Branaire Ducru in the lobby of that Marriott we stayed at in 2002, on the Saturday afternoon before the Saturday night dinner.

Meyney was better in both 2014 and 2016, but I wouldn't blink at the 2015 for $22.50

At 22.50 I have a hard time finding quaffers, so I think I "done good" on this purchase. :)

A lot of JJ Prum 2019, mostly gold kap, but all the others from kabinett up.

Seems like this is going to be a great year in the Mosel, and buying Prum is a no brainer.

How come you bought some 2005 Duhart Milon Comte? You would have been better with some 2003, as "Eric was effusive in his praise for the ‘delicious’ 2003"... ;-)

Nic

P.s. Easy choice between 2005 or 2003 Duhart Milon!

I don’t remember trying the 2003 Duhart Nic but I can well imagine it is one of the most successful 2003s along with the likes of Montrose and Sociando-Mallet given what Eric said about the ‘cold terroir’. Having said that the warmest vintage on show at the Duhart tasting was the 2009 which was my least favourite wine even if it was technically superior to the 2011.

But I was pleasantly surprised by the 2005 after some mixed experiences in tastings this year with this vintage. I was surprised how accessible it was and at the same price as the 2003 not a difficult choice.

Talking of 2009 yesterday I picked up 12 x 375s of 2009 Langoa at £29 each all in, and 6 x 750 of 2009 Brane Cantenac for £69 each all in.

Put in a preorder for a case of 2016 Mascarello Monprivato with Polaner and am quite miffed as the wine increased 33% in its wholesale price year over year and while yes the 2016 Baroli are hot, I really don’t know if this increase is producer driven or just another fun datapoint of our lovely 3 tiered system.

The recent comments about 2014 Bordeaux wines finally put me over the edge. I now have a mixed case of this vintage on its way.

3 x Lafon Rochet
3 x Lilian Ladouys
3 x Meyney
3 x La Gurgue

Hopefully they will scratch the itch.

Made my 1st trip to NH for the latest sale. Not as prodigious as Jim but I'm trying to restrain myself.

2016 Corbin 11
2016 Domaine De Chevalier 1

I am looking at a few more like Branaire, Giscours, Lafon Rochet and La Dame de Montrose

I got my answer on the 2014 Haut Brion and Margaux, they are not discounting them further at $320 and $339 respectively, that is their cost.
I'll tell you, the Racer Chris 2015 Larose Trintaudon at $20.39 is a real bargain.

I saw that and may pick up a few. I shared a 95' or 96' few years ago and was impressed how good it was at around 10 years age.

Gerry, I've had the '15 about 3-4 times now and it has been consistently excellent, especially when it gets a little air.
I'm going to pick up a case and buy some more Corbin from both 15 and 16, and then I've gotta decide whether I'm gonna go with the HB and/or Margaux.
I'm afraid I'm out on the '16 Mouton, too much.

I'm definately heading back up there tomorrow and may head to Salem to grab the 16' Corbin they have. I have the 14' HB but may grab Margaux. +700/btl is out of my league except for a 89' HB I bought for my anniversary year. Happy hunting!
