Hotel Proposal for BWE Chicago 2010!!!

After some calling and talking to other BWE members, I have been able to secure a group rate at the Affinia Chicago for $99/night for double occupancy. I will get suite info as soon as folks ok the choice. Other options in the same price range were the Wyndham (good location, not as well reviewed) and the W hotels (worse location, but probably a nicer hotel). If folks prefer, I may be able to get the Sofitel Water Tower for $130-$140.

The hotel is located right in the heart of the Magnificent Mile and is #10 on Tripadvisor for Chicago Hotels (out of 191 hotels). They can guarantee us enough rooms that we will have no issue with people being shut out. The rate is good for as much of Wednesday - Sunday as you want to use.

While I normally use priceline, Chicago won't end up being much cheaper if we go that route closer to the date, and we won't be able to guarantee everyone a room. Moreover, we won't be able to insure this good of a of location.

Looks like a nice spot Howard. Location fine. Definitely better than the W. I've stayed at there sister location the James Hotel and very nice but have't been here before. Amazing the number of hotels that I've stayed at in Chicago over the 25 or so times I've been there and only staying in the same place twice(Sheraton Twin Towers and the Courtyard Marriott) On their site they have a special for travel agents at $79. Could we turn into a group of travel agents for 3-4 nights?

That's a great rate, and it would be hard to find a more central location. You are less than one block from the "Mag Mile" where most of the fine shops are. Also, a lot of downtown restaurant venues are easily walkable from there.
