Some 2007 Lopez Heredia Tondonia Reserva.
A few italian dry white wines for a change.

Our consumption of dry white wines is very high, i just can't keep the bottle for a long time. We pair them mostly with fish and seafood, principaly sushis, or tartare or sea scallops.

I've decided 2016 will be my last vintage of Bordeaux that I collect and cellar. I'll buy future bottles but for immediate consumption. I'm also buying wine that may be ready sooner than 20 years.

6. 2016 Ch. Siran
2. 2016 Ch. Sociando Mallet
2. 2016 Ch. Cantemerle

While shopping around for 2016 St. Estephe wines I noticed that Total Wine & More (in Norwalk) has halves of Ch. Montrose for under $100.
I bought two.
And while I was filling a box big enough for delivery I found out they want to give me not 10%, but 15% off (not from the Montrose) if I buy a couple extra bottles.
They hardly have any Bordeaux I want at a price I'm willing to pay right now so I bought a bunch of Dr Heidemanns Rieslings.
They have De Margerie Grand Cuvee Speciale in their monthly specials so I added two of them, and they're giving me the extra discount on them too.
The Montrose purchase is just foolish, but the extra savings on the other bottles makes me feel better. :)

Chris, for whatever reason it seems like when the tariffs hit, TW immediately raised the prices on all Bdx 750ml sized bottles regardless of whether they were incoming or in stock but they did not apply that same hike to halves and mags.

Its been very hard to find good deals since the tariffs took effect.
Apart from a couple of those '80s bottles I acquired, the Montrose halves are the most expensive alcohol I've ever purchased. I'm smitten by St. Estéphe right now, particularly 2016.

TW can't even figure out how to append vintages to many of their fine wine SKU's, even for items like Gran Reserva Rioja or Gran Selezione CC where its something consumers would want/care about what year it is.

Real Time Dynamic Inventory tracking is way beyond them.

K&L is the amazing in this dimension, and it works across their multiple locations.

Even when they do add a vintage, don't count on it being what's on the shelf in the store.

With dreams of spring in the air, I gathered a plethora of Blanc, mostly from Pouilly Fuisse that Gilman is high on and a couple of reds to try ITNOS. I haven’t tried most of these before, so this will be extra fun:

-1 x 2017 Louis Michel Chablis 1er Cru "Butteaux" Vieilles Vignes
-1 x 2017 Frog's Leap Estate Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon

If the outlier is the Ridge Estate Chardonnay, I am fan in general so I thought I’d give a more recent vintage a whirl. I had the 2012 version recently and it was great in a somewhat richer, oaky style than I often prefer.

Aside from all the recent buzz on this wine — https://www.wineberserkers.com/forum/vi ... c1bc6bb35a — a wine named Frog’s Leap seemed like a safe choice for a lover of French wine!

All wonderful Bordeaux Ian. I popped a bottle of the 2009 Haut Bailly 2 years ago, after a Neal Martin note suggesting oxidation at the "Ten Years On" tasting. This was a killer bottle.
