I see 2017 Lucien Crochet Sancerre Le Chene Marchand available near me for $45 and I see the "Le Chene" listed on Cellartracker but nowhere is found "Les Grands Chenes".

:)
I've hardly ever spent more than $30 on a Sauvignon Blanc.
So uncertain that spending more will produce greater satisfaction with white wines in general.

Picked up 2 x Bourgneuf 2015 ($75 NZ).

I would say this one isn't a sauvignon, it is the real incarnation of a perfect Sancerre, really a huge difference.

And i agree that today, many Sancerre ot Pouilly-Fumé are "only" sauvignon, but not the 2017 Lucien Crochet..

1 1983 Lynch-Bages @ $127.05

Not quite as good as Patrick's score but OK. This wine is on the downslope but has some emotional attraction for my family.

I did something very ''over the top'' silly. More silly than a Médoc or Saint-Émilion First Growth, more silly than a top Pomerol... more silly than anything logical.

1 bottle of the 2018 Armand Rousseau Chambertin.

Jckba, in Québec, the new system for those rare bottles are a bit like a lotery: when the very few bottles are offered, you apply to "win the chance to buy one". And there are 2 rounds. So you do your order, you got the results of the first round. If you don't buy all in the first round, the bottle you did not purchased are release for a second round with all the people who did not get that bottle in the first round. I know, very weird.

So i ended up with " winning the chance to buy a 2018 Armand Rousseau Chambertin" on the second round. Totally unexpected as while this wine is expensive, the price for that wine at our monopoly liquorstore is way below market value...

I still think i did a mistake and will probably sell it back. Or who knows, after all, Bourgogne wines are MC's favorite...

A magnum of Lucien Jayer Echezeaux 1978. Henri was the consultant not the winemaker, so it fetches a fraction of the bucks Henri’s wines do.

Nice.

I snagged a 6 pack of the 2019 Halcon Alturas Syrah a few months back, looking forward to trying this vintage. Might be my favorite new world syrah at any price point (well, excluding Grange).

It’s good stuff, fairly priced, and ages well. I have a case of that 2019. The Elevaccion is their higher-end Syrah Cuvee, Gilman gave it a 95.
