The May date definitely works for me, March-April less preferable

I will try persuade Chasse Spleen to come because he looks like one of the Doors and will feel at home there

So possibility of one for me.

Regardless of whether you can make it, Nic, I need to get up to Quebec province sometime in the year ahead, it has been forever since I have been there, which is one of my favorite places.

I'll do my best to attend. Unless I can't, in which case I won't.
Have we settled on a date yet Werner?

Add me to the list, probably 2 people (my wife is a...what's that spelling....tea-totaler or teetoler or tea toker, so she won't be coming but I'll bring a friend).

I know I know Patrick, I am trying, it is tough being me, I have so much on my plate! I have a million things going on, there aren't enough days in the year. I should be able to go pending my father's health situation, which has been in decline. Sounds like we've got a weekend picked, what is it?

Are you gunning for the Republican nomination in 2012?

Re: BWE '11: Going to California?

Posted: Thu Oct 07, 2010 2:39 am
by JimHow
That's really bizarre, you are the second person today who asked me whether I had intentions of running for office as a Republican. Considering I am left of Keith Olbermann, that's really strange....

I had you down as a Republican and the Democratic nomination is between Barack and Hillary no?

Re: BWE '11: Going to California?

by JimHow
Wow, me as a Republican, that's hilarious. I wrote for the Communist newspaper in law school, hung out with Dan Ellsburg in Moscow in 1990. (Did anyone see that great show on the Pentagon Papers last night on PBS?). I'm even more liberal in my old age!

Barack is going to be in there for 6 more years, then Hillary for 8 more after him....

Didn't I see you in the documentary The Weather Underground from back in the day, Jim?

I recall you had huge mutton chops and were talking excitedly about grubbing up Clerc Milon's 'elitist' vineyards and planting it with honest, proletariat varietals like Baco Noir.

So Jim, you'll ensure it's a BWE not a Tea party in SF (a huge stronghold for the Teaites, I know)

The scary thing is I really WAS hanging out with Dan Ellsburg in Moscow in 1990, just before I was kidnapped....

I think we should have a "What Would Sarah Palin Drink" party, Jay, in the land of that beacon of leadership, that pillar of integrity, Madame Pelosi <rolls eyes>.

Jim,

The last round of roll call of the 2011 BWE convention in San Francisco is for the weekend of May 19 - May 22, 2011.
I think we have a good size of a group and this is the date then.

The 10th BWE convention next year would be held in San Francisco on the weekend of May 19-May 22, 2011.
If anyone of you raised hand without knowing the exact day, let me know if you can't make it so I could take you out of the list.

I have contacted the Box SF as a venue, and would have a walk-throu with them on Oct. 23rd. And it looks like we would hit our upper limit of the budget, ie. $200 each, plus 15% up or down. We would have the site and a catering service there.

JonB,

You could bring your wife. Because I am a huge tea lover too. I know Stefan's daughter is also a huge tea lover. We could do something really fun with our tea. I think I have been toying with the idea of having at least a tea party on the BWE convention weekend. I have some exotic, designer, competition tea. Plus she could shop at the tea stores in SF to her heart content.
