Checking back in...

I think the new layout with the text to the left and the rotating pics to the right looks fabulous! Great work!

Text size looks fine.

Adding a few pics with people in them is a good idea. Don't know if adding captions to the pics is possible or even if it woud look good, but something to consider.

Any thoughts about number of posts per page? Ten seems too few. Is that user configurable? If not, can we set it to something like 25 or 30?

Mine has 40 posts per page, no?

Yup - Phil must have changed that while I wasn't looking...

I would echo David's comment above. I think it's probably best to ignore the "MD" designation for David and I. I think it's irrelevant in the context and maybe I'm self-conscious about it but I don't want it to come off the wrong way.

Rotating images on home page are now updated.

You may have to do a hard refresh (Ctrl + F5) to see them though.

I kind of like the MDs on the front page but obviously it is completely up to Scott and David. I do think that whatever option we choose, it should either be both or neither.

I tend to agree with Scott re: the MD.

On another note - seems like when I open a thread, it goes right into the quick reply box instead of to the first post in the thread. Any way to change that?

I can make it go to the first post on opening the thread by turning off the quick reply box in the user control panel. Can I have it both ways, with the thread opening to the first post, and the quick reply box sitting at the bottom of the page? I thought that's how it was behaving originally... or maybe not...

Phil, can you remove the MDs from the welcome page.

David, it's OK for me. Can you tell me what you're clicking on to view the thread and also what browser and version you're using? (Find browser here if you're not sure: http://www.lorem.biz/mywebbrowser.asp) thanks

Edit: are you clicking the little "view the latest post" icon next to their username on the right-hand side? Because that will take you to the last post in the thread, which is always above the quick-reply box.

Jim, done that.

I'm clicking on the title of the thread, not the view last post button, and it takes me right to the quick reply post ready to type with a cursor right in the quick reply box. Somehow I don't recall it doing that the other day, but I could be remembering wrong. My browser is Internet Explorer version 7.0.6000.16764.

Yes I've just seen it happens when I use IE7 as well, I'll have a look in to it

Turn out this was a bug, i've applied the fix from the phpBB support forum and it seems to have stopped now.

Yup, that fixed it. I had to close the browser and restart, but it's now working correctly.

We'll probably find a few more bugs along the way, but this looks awfully good.
