My worst patients were never as stressful as this, Jim. I'll be officially retired from clinical practice on July 1, though I haven't been able to see patients since my neck surgery last October.

It took me a while, and while I still miss patient care and surgery, I've adapted to the idea of retirement. I'm staying busy doing health policy consulting for the Academy, I still go to medical conferences, and Peggy and I are having fun furnishing the new townhouse. There are a ton of books I want to read. I have to have a hip replaced next month, and once recovered from that we hope to do some traveling.

The newspaper certainly paints him as a guilty man.

I love my boring life.

I'm about 7 years behind you, David, I'll slow down when I get to age 66 and 8 months.... If I get that far.

Don't let SS alone determine your path in life Jim, and pay attention to the happiness portion of your happiness/money ratio.

I know, DavidG, but you know I thrive on this, I wouldn’t be me if I wasn’t working crazy hours, getting involved in stressful high stakes cases, working hard, playing hard, drinking Bordeaux....

Life is good.
I really have no complaints.
I’m constantly keeping myself amused, every day.

On a little bit of a tangent:
The newspaper article mentioned CMMC. Here's a recent advertisement my brother had produced for his position there.

Charley could be a double for the Stormy Daniels att'y.

Wow! Small world.
A quarter mile from my office.
It’s where I’ve been having my cardiac testing done.

His farm is at the top of the hill on Poland Corner Rd in Poland.
If you ever drive thru there it's the place with the big new horse barn and new house construction, behind the existing house near the road.
He studied and lived in France briefly when he was in college and probably knows Bordeaux wine better than I. At least he can pronounce all the names correctly. :D
While I spend my money on 2nd and 3rd growths at every opportunity, he can afford a few bottles of Bordeaux Superieur here and there.
