"Super-expensive" wines -- are any worth it?

Nic, could not agree more. I could see it worth for me to go way over the normal budget on a Pauillac wine that I love. But no way I would do it for other regions that I am feeling so so about. But generally my answer would be no. Mostly because for me if I can get a wine that blows me away for $40-100, and I would be slightly more blown away for $300. Rather do it more often than just once. Then again it all depends on where you are financially, for many years I could not enjoy the great wines, now I can so life is much better.
