Steve and I are definitely in, no food allergies for either of us (just a moderate intolerance of Rollandized wines).

+2 for all of the above. Dallas and I will be there. Good specification on going Pomerol vs just Right bank, Patrick. That alone should mitigate most of the issues.

I have a shrimp allergy that I will be telling them about and would like to give Black Salt a list of any other food allergies and aversions very soon.

We also need to work/coordinate on building our plan for wines for each flight. I told the restaurant:

Champagne
White Burgundy
Red Bordeaux (Pomerol)
Red Bordeaux (Pomerol)
Red Bordeaux
Dessert wines

Janet and I are def in. No real food allergies.

As I said, we'll bring a (1) a mag of 2005 Charles Heidsieck, and (2) a couple bottles of '82 VCC. If people would rather we bring 2 750s of different champagnes, thats possible as well. I have a much larger selection of champagnes than aged pomerol.

I’ll bring a nice bottle of Champagne, Chris, along with a 2010 La Conseillante. I can bring up to three bottles of Champagne if need be.

Thanks for organizing the dinner at Black Salt, I love that place. We had a great dinner there last time. The one very minor nitpick (from the mystery puker, and I concurred) was that we felt a little rushed through some of the courses.

Thanks again for everything, I hope Marjorie can make it!

I am in, as I think I mentioned before, bringing the 2001 and 2011 Vieux Chateau Certan

Thrilled to try the 2010 Conseillante!

Jim, Marjorie is planning on coming to the Thursday night dinner. Eric is bringing a magnum of Champagne, if you bring two bottles, we will have enough Champagne.

I plan on bringing the 1990 Conseillante and a white Burgundy (to be determined) and Yquem.

I do have a bottle of the 2000 La Conseillante, for a little vertical of every 10 years. Tempting. I know Marcus would love this vertical action!

Not only do I love verticals (sometimes to a fault!) I LOVE La Conseillante, one of my favorite producers, so tell me what I have to do to get you to bring it!

I kind of cheated by picking VCC instead of La Conseillante as my focus wine for this BWE, I am treasuring my very few bottles of older Conseillante and didn't want to drink them in a group setting. But I would love to try them from others LOL!

Well, I plan to complete One of the verticals. Either the VCC, with the 83 to compliment the 82, 86 and whichever younger ones you end up bringing. Or the Conseillante vertical. (Dark horse option, I have the 98 L'evangile to complete the vertical with the 89 and 90.)

Also I could bring my own vertical of L'eglise Clinet, 87,90, 97. The 87 I am bringing regardless as an "extra bottle" since its a birth year wine and this is the perfect place to open. The 97 drank Very well whenever our last BWE zoom call was.

Whats your preference between those 3-4 options, Marcus? Everyone else please feel free to weigh in as well.

I plan to bring the 2001 and 2011 VCC. With those two we already have a four vintage vertical of VCC so I suggest picking one of the other wines.

I urge you to bring the 2000 Conseillante -- not only do I love Conseillante, but a vertical of the oughts, all great vintages, is too good to pass up. And three vintages is IMO the optimal length for a vertical at a large gathering like this one featuring multiple wines. Any longer and it starts to blur together.

Then I would also bring the 1998 L'evangile, it was one of the real standout wines at BWE 2018 when we explored 98 right bank, I still remember it. 89, 90, 98 is a fantastic right bank vertical. With that said, I totally understand if you wanted to keep the 98 L'evangile to drink on your own at a small dinner, it's a great wine.

Not too excited by L'Eglise Clinet, but maybe that's just me -- just never had a great experience with them.

I'll start with the 2000 La Conseillante then for sure. Will figure out the rest later. Curious to see if Blanquito has any preferences on the other wine options for the evening.

I also have a 2014 Chateau De Meursault Charmes Du Dessus. And a 2015 JM Boillot Puligny Champs Canet as options for a white burg if we need another.

Oh hey -- I forgot! I also have the 2015 Vieux Chateau Certan, along with the 2011. I was thinking the 2015 would be an interesting comparison given some of the discussions about high-alcohol wines and 2015 in particular. The critics went absolutely gaga over the 2015 and called it one of the wines of the vintage, multiple 100 point scores, etc. I have not tried it, but have had the 2011 and it is excellent in a more restrained and classic style (lots of cab franc).

Any preference between the two? I could bring both of course, or save one for Saturday.

I think you should bring the 2011 VCC on Thursday night. That one is kind of under the radar but very good vintage for VCC.

Eric,
With just 11 coming to tonight’s dinner, I think bringing 2 750s is a good idea. With 750s we can just open what we need as things progress. We will probably only need 2 or 3 (at most) bottles of Champagne.
