Costco pricing is essentially original futures pricing so I would strongly suggest keeping that in mind when comparing pricing, and CV, buy, buy, buy.

Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion Le C des Carmes Haut-Brion 2019.

Never had this before but was offered it at discount and seems to be getting good reviews on CT.

A supposedly pristine case of 1994 l’Evangile for $135/bottle all in (including tax) - an overpay but I unfortunately got caught up in the auction and boosted my bid to win it at the last second. I have heard this is actually one of the better wines of the 94 vintage, hope that’s true

Three bottles of 2015 Hubert Lignier Morey St Denis 1er cru vieilles vignes at $160/bottle - not an overpay as this is a cult wine from this producer

thanks, hopefully it still is! And I'm grateful -- this is the kind of enabling I really rely on BWE for LOL

I think in the face of all the talk about super-slick new style Bordeaux, I really just wanted to add a few more old school 12% alcohol aged Pomerols to my collection while I still could...

I backed filled on some 2020 Bordeaux ahead of my March 31 deadline never to buy any wine again.

I gathered some useful market intelligence in my travels last week and ended up with:

DDC Rouge x 6
Duhart Milon x 6
Canon La Gaffeliere x 6
Troplong Mondot 2 x 6

I can’t remember ottomh exactly what I paid for each bit they were attractive prices

I did not pull the trigger on Beychevelle - already quite fully priced - nor Giscours or Branaire - where you pay away a lot of carry on storage - but I might come back and scope some of these up in the fullness of time because the price kink is probably some time away judging by the pricing behaviour of other recent vintages.

I had the 2019 Aux Echezeaux recently. It was a baby but had great bones. It should be a great wine. Good buys.

Jouan is probably the best Burgundy buy out there, but the cost differential between the village and Clos Sorbe is relatively small for the huge jump in quality, I tend to focus on them. CSD is a bigger jump in cost but about the same jump in quality.

In Israel for Passover:
2018 William Fevre Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume x 2 $68 per
2021 Domaine du Castel Petit Castel x 2 $36 per

The weakening Shekel makes for decent pricing when compared to the US market. We usually bring wine here, the opposite may happen this time.

In my next international trips, i will look for more 1978.

In London, i brought a 1978 Canon la Gaffelière at the Saturday dinner, and of course passed a bit ignored in comparison to the highligths wines, but that 1978 was excellent.

David, I’ll probably wait 10-15 years before trying a bottle as the btls of Jamet I’ve really enjoyed have all had 15-20 years on them.

Nick, Patrick got the Gosset Rose on a super deal for $40/btl from Zachys untasted but bought it as Dale regularly buys it and served a btl to John Gilman who wrote an extremely positive note on it.

JimS, I think this is an upper echelon Loire Valley producer and a value compared to the wines of Stephane Bernaudeau whose pricing exploded overnight despite being variable. My only pricing issue with Boudignon lies with their importer Skurnik as the wholesale price is up $20 year over year but such is life.
