I'm assuming that, because this wine is aged without oak, this is a favorite of blanquito.
That is a very Whuzzup__ disposition.
Might not this excellent wine become something more profound with some level of oak in the equation?
I'm completely novice on this issue.

Jim, I am a big fan of unoaked Chablis. In general, unoaked Chardonnays go very well with simply prepared shellfish. Unfortunately, most unoaked new word Chardonnays lack the vibrant mineralyness of Chablis. But I never had the Stony Hill; I'll have to find some.

Glad you found it enjoyable. It's a great price on sale for $47/btl. What else did you get?

I've just been buying some 2019 Beaucastel, Gerry, it seems to be reasonably priced. I've bought a bunch of half bottles and a couple of magnums. It's a beauty.

Out of pure curiosity, what is the price for Maine lobster in Maine as it is $19.99/lb here locally?

I think that's about what I paid JC for a cooked lobster.
I bought a 1.25 pound steamed lobster, a butter, a whoopee pie, and a half pint of French fries, plus a 20% tip, for $37.58.

Eric Asimov has an article in the online New York Times today about the Stony Hill winery.

For what it’s worth, the ownership also changed hands a year and a half ago.

I had not realized Stony Hill is available for retail sale; my perception was that it was generally sold via mailing list, restaurants etc.

Perhaps things have changed with new management.

Jimmy, I tend to like Oregon Chardonnay because most have little or minimal oak. I like mine crisp and minerally.

NH is the 1st time I've ever seen Stony Hill at retail. The timing suggests the new owners might have sold off some residual leftover stocks to raise some cash.

There was a time when live lobsters were $5.99 a pound. One time we sat outside under the stars, eight of us with eighteen lobsters, corn, butter and plenty of Roederer Brut Champagne.

A perfect evening.

Stony Hill has been in Skurniks book here in the NY metro area for as long as I can remember.

And here is to hoping that lobster prices somewhat return to normal this summer, otherwise, just like when a wine that doubles or triples in price and prices me out; I will just find a substitute.
