Chateau Sipian-Medoc

A new one to me. I've been offered the 2018 at $19. It is a neighbor of Sociando-Mallet. Anyone know this producer?
It seems odd that it would be a 'neighbor' if its AOC Medoc, rather than Haut Medoc.
Medoc would be further up north I would think.
I seem to remember from a map that S-M's closest vineyards were Charmail and St. Paul, relatively proven and well distributed, at give or take ~$20 level.
