Ok, ok, that 2016 GPL last night was pretty good....

Uncorked it with a small Zoom dinner, it was beautiful.
Balanced, representative of the terroir, actually quite approachable but clearly with stuffing to last.
Delicious. Splendid opaque, fresh vibrant deep purple. First the 2014 and now the 2016....
Is GPL coming around in the new era? I think I have another 3-4 bottles of this, as well as five of the 2014, which I liked.
It has me lusting to try, and hopefully purchase, the 2019 GPL.
As for the 2016 GPL, this was a solid, delicious 95 points.

Nicola... As I've said a million times.
I have no agenda. When I think a Bordeaux is great, I will heap it with love.
When I think it is the emperor with no clothes, I will say so.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I think this wipes out decades of mediocrity at GPL.
All I'm saying is that 2014 and 2016 GPL have impressed me.
On to 2019....

If the 19 goes alright you might have sneak it back up to a fifth growth!

We shall see, Ambrose. I am kind and benevolent, after all.

Funny, I just had their second wine (Lacoste Borie 2016) last Sunday, it was excellent. Better than some of the 5th classified 2019 Pauillacs that I have had.
Today I bought a case of it. Now when you mention GPL 2019 I am tempted to garb one of the half bottles but I need to wait.

I guess someday, GPL will be picked by BD in the not too distant future for the esteemed WOTY group...

2016 was is the best GPL I have encountered - but I think 1994/95/96 are outstanding too as is the 2014, a modern version of the superb 1978. The rest are more of a mixed bag but not as disastrous as Jim makes out in my experience.
