Is there a difference between Le Marquis de Calon Segur and Marquis de Calon?

Same wine Jim...name was changed from Marquis de Calon (2012 last vintage) to Le Marquis de Calon Segur (2013 vintage). The estate refers to it as their Second Wine, but I understand that the majority comes from the same plot's year after year. Since the 2014 vintage, ratings are generally within the 90–92-point range.

I have the 16' and was impressed how good it was. I did see the 19' at the local NH store but now the inventory says it's gone

Yeah, I stayed away from the 2018 and 2019 Calon and capbern so far because of those high abv. Sad because they are some of the best for their price points in 2014 and 2016. Maybe I’ll be proven wrong but I worry

Jim, I finally made it to the NH store and followed your lead and buying four bottles.

I would have bought more but the 15% made me hesitate. I've been paying more attention to alcohol levels over the last couple of years and they are rising across the board. Climate change is real and we are only at the early stages of its' impact on the prime growing regions. I might focus more on backfilling older vintages with lower alc and higher acid while dropping my cellar temp just to ensure covering my needs to the end of the road lol.
