BWE London 2023: Noize, March 25

For the finale I have two double mags which I would like to show - one of which is a 40 year old super second, which has BWE written all over it and is tailor made for this event.

As the host this is my prerogative so no need to bring more than one bottle per person otherwise. But at the same time I don’t want to dictate the line up.

However, dry and sweet white contributions would be welcome.

1. Ian - Second growth d-mag (1983) and right bank d-mag, 1985 Lynch Bages and 2019 Lynch Bages in halves
2. Jim - 1989 Lynch Bages and 2019 Montrose
3. Patrick - 1983 Lynch Bages and 1990 Leoville Barton
4&5. MichaelP and Nalan
6&7. Ed and Lisa - 1986 Leoville Lascases and 1998 Vieux Chateau Certan
8. Tim
9. Alex - 2000 Cos D’Estournel
10. Nic -1988 Lynch Bages and 1998 Leoville Lascases
11&12 Tom and Gail
13. HM$ - 1983 Cheval Blanc and 1981 Coutet Cuvee Madame
14&15 Joel and Daniela

Fizz: DP 2008 x 2 and Cristal 2008 x 2

Thanks for everything, Mr. Flaneur, can't wait to get across the pond to one of my favorite cities with some of my favorite people. Let us know when you need money from us, and at some point I need to start focusing on sourcing wine for the events, cursed underwear bomber, it certainly would be easier to carry on my bag, I dunno, maybe I'll check it.

Omg, 2 double magnums!

I will bring a bottle of a "well known" red. Maybe something more.

Sounds amazing, Ian. Thanks so much for putting this all together. I'll bring some good 80's(or 1990) and/or some 98 right bank.

I should be able to bring a white or sweet. Is white Burgundy a good idea for a dry white or should we try to stay all Bordeaux this night?

Thanks Joel, I think white burgundy will be fine for Saturday, what does everyone else think?

Bottle limit or not, pulled a 37, 50 and 61 plus a 58 sticky from the cellar today for this event. Who else are we going to share these with?

Aww you brought a 58 for my (our?) birth year, Michael, so sweet. If I buy an 89 Lynch out there at K&L do you have time to pick it up for me?

Do we want to set a subtheme of two for red Bordeaux this night? We discussed 83 and 90 at various points.

I think that's a solid idea, Patrick. I plan to have bottles of each with me. Still whitling down the list but I know that I have an 83 Gruaud Larose that I'd be happy to bring. I have a 1990 Haut Bailly that I could bring. I was thinking about bringing a 1989 Pichon Lalande as well.

But I think Ian wanted to do a Lynch vertical. I have 1985 for sure and should have an 1986(from auction). Is this still on?

Okay, let’s just do it!

I’m bringing an 83 Lynch Bages (checking 2 boxes) and a 1990 Leoville Barton.

Thank you both - despite my recent post on the Willam Kelly thread - I still love Bordeaux 1981-90

The 1983 vintage is now well represented but we have only one 1990, for those of you pondering what to bring another 1990 would be most welcome
