Well, now I've done it

Post by RPCV »

I told myself that 2016 would be the last vintage I buy in meaningful quantities but then I bought a half of Chateau Dalem and drank it. Damn wine. Now the proud owner of Montrose, Phelan Segur, Dalem, Gloria, Leoville Barton/Poyferre....yada, yada.

This is a GREAT vintage. Reminds me of 82 and 90.

The road to hell is paved in good intentions......

Well I said the same after the 2016 en primeur campaign but I bought more of them including some highly rated wines recently.

I then bit after the 2019 wines were talked up and now have quite a few of them from both banks.

I’m well into my 60s and wonder if I’ll live enough to drink most of the wines I’ve already got but it’s hard to resist each crop vintage.

Cheers
Mark

I can just agree, saying it is the thing to do, as 2016 is one of the greatest vintage to me too.

2018 are not to my liking (to now) and i did not taste enough 2019, but the young 2016 i had were all great*.

*except a Malescot Saint-Exupéry that syarted very strong, but ended weirdly.

Yes, which one? Someone says another 82/90 and I’m like one of Pavlov’s dogs. Of course, on BWE, the safest solution is to buy bought vintages!

Wow, this makes me want to buy more 2019s.
I need to get some Lafon Rochet, Lynch Bages, Leoville Barton, Langoa Barton, Calon Segur, Sociando Mallet, du Tertre, and, yes, GPL.
