1985 Beychevelle

Post by Comte Flaneur »

In half bottle format. This was a beauty. Bricking orange. Autumn leaves with smokiness and still rich fruit with fine acidity. Fully mature but still a great spot.

A bottle we had in February was borderline corked. But this was a great bottle, which disappeared in a flash.

Thank you Joel

One of my favs, and very hard to find anymore except at extortionate rates (seemingly like many 85s these days).

You're quite welcome, Ian. I'm glad it made it across the pond unscathed.

I've had great luck with that batch of 10 half bottles. I wish I could have more half bottles of wine, but they are hard to find, annoying to store and too easy to drink up. I don't see myself keeping my mitts off my 2019 half bottles for that long.
