TN Figeac 1998

This is arguably the fines Figeac made by Eric d’Aramon, loved it en primeur, and had my last bottle a couple of years ago. The extra few years in bottle has only made it a deeper more profound wine. Decanted for around two hours, and paired with the brilliant Flannery hanger steaks (not aged). The richness of the meat and wine were kept in check by a blade of acidity, and an extremely long finish. There was always a knife edge with some Figeacs, where the wines were not quite ripe, here it is just perfect.
