Are the 2019s closing down?

Post by JimHow »

Had a 2019 La Tour Martillac the other night, which I really liked on release, it was tighter than a witch's anus.

I don't know about 2019, but a 2016 Château la Grave à Pomerol was just too good and fully open!

When you want to really know about anuses, talk to a lawyer! But concerning 2019, they, IMO, have never been as open as 2018, Opened a Barde-Haut the other night and it was shut closed until the last few sips.

Jim
Based on the last tasting I did earlier this year, the 19s were shutting down and did not show as much fruit as last year particularly the right bank wines.

The structure is good for ageing though better to leave them for now.

The 2020s on the other hand are bursting with fruit on the right bank in particular.
