TN: 2019 Chateau de Parnay Saumur-Champigny 'Clos du Chateau'

At a bistro with a mediocre wine list in the city of Rennes we had the 2019 Chateau de Parnay Saumur-Champigny 'Clos du Chateau' with steak tartare,roast chicken and good fries. Organically grown, this was a delicious Cab Franc, dark almost inky, chewy and crunchy dark red fruit, nice aromas of cassis and earth, good depth and long finish. One of the best wine of our trip. Giving this a 92 or an A-

Btw Rennes looks like it's been through a lot lately, streets almost empty, stores boarded, a lot of smashed windows (taped), a heavy police presence. The first evidence we have seen of the recent riots. We did well to stick to the small towns till now.
