2021 Purple Rose Castello di Ama

Back home in the night between Monday/Tuesday, just getting the jetlag out while i was working 3 days this week.

Of course, the trip to Italy let some sequels, as my winelover attention is totally aligned on italian wines since.

While in Italy, we had a great 2021 San Guisto 100% sangiovese rosé that was a revelation, as a very dark, structured and tasty rosé.

So last night bought a 100 % sangiovese dark rosé, the 2021 Purple Rose from Castello di Ama. Nose was very fruity on cherries, strawberries, with a nice touch of light onion peel vegetal, light candied cinnamon and minerals. In mouth, not as concentrated flavors as the colour would let you think, but nice elegance of fruit, grape, light flowers and decent length. Different from Provence rosé wines, but clearly a good wine. Went well with the chicken. Tn :90.
