Côte Rôtie, one of my favorite terroirs. A wine that can be drunk very young (decanted for at least 60 minutes), like at 15-20 years old
This young Côte Rôtie Chavarine from Domaine Chambeyron 2019 is very typical, with all that Syrah can show of freshness, complexity and typicality. Dark red wine, smoky nose, bacon, dark cranberries, blackberries, rock and licorice. Powerful attack, good fruit, blackberries, liquorice, minerals. There is also a side of charcoal oil, musky fatty animal. Finale of fresh blackcurrant and morello cherries. I find this wine great, for approx. $75, a superb Syrah! Tn: 92-93.
Make very micaschist of the Côte Brune...
