I had this 6mos. back and really enjoyed it...the group got together for Sunday brunch so I broke it out.
This wine is def. peaking...I don't see this improving on any level, it's a lovely quaff, quite classic, earthy with pipe tobacco, sous bois and leathery notes, tannins resolved, medium body. Glad to have another in-route from wine bid

Does it have the Cordier funk that most of us enjoy? Surprisingly the 1989 did not recently. It was quite beautiful without it, but I missed that!
I think others have mentioned around 1989 is when it stopped being the classic Gruaud. But I can't remember for sure.

It's rustic, but I wouldn't call it Cordier rustic
