Guys
I’d never heard of this wine. From the Lurton stable it is a good value and surprisingly nice wine.
Good dark ruby colour with nose of oak, dark berries and plums, some savoury characters and some violets.
I did not expect much to be honest. Bought at less than half price in Singapore, it did taste like a Margaux in a good vintage. The palate was firm but with sweet fruit, balancing acid, tannins and rather powerful oak. Needs more time but not wasted now.
Don’t expect a 1er Cru level wine but quite an enjoyable wine with both traditional and modern tones. A bit simple but hey sipped with pasta and salad, it was pretty good.
Cheers

Ch La Tour de Besson Margaux CB 2016
Re: Ch La Tour de Besson Margaux CB 2016
Nice note Mark. I had a few 2010s & 2015s of this and generally enjoyed them. I only say "generally" as I did find them to be a bit inconsistent from bottle to bottle. But the good ones were distinctively Margaux like and excellent value.
