I've been obsessing over the 2019 vintage lately, let's see how this puppy performs.
The bouquet certainly jumps out of the bottle....

Danny:

This is a classic, workmanlike St. Estephe. The floral bouquet really stands out. It is 13.5% alcohol. It is ruby colored with hints of purple, richly colored, forecasting a wine of class and quality. This can be had in the $20USD range, which makes it an exceptional value. My previous favorite of this wine was the 2016 but this 2019 surpasses that great vintage. It is a mini-Calon Segur. It has raspberries and black cherry fruit. It matched best with the sirloin steak tonight. Another great Medoc from the (epic?) 2019 vintage. You get the sense that this was a vintage where no bad wines were made. Rating: 90 points.

I never heard of Serilhan before today. I see that pomerolover agrees with you.

This is a Jean-Nicolas Maltais kind of wine. I always thought they had some connection to Calon Segur but maybe I’m getting mixed up with Capbern.

Sounds like a winner for that price. If it resembles Calon Segur it could be my kinda wine as well but trying to taper off this stuff unfortunately. I love it but it don't love me anymore sending my heart of rhythm when in the least bit overdo it like Montreal. Boy that was a bad 4-5 days of irregular heart beat after that. This getting old sucks!! At least I can live vicariously through these posts.

Sorry to hear that, Danny. That is a real bummer. Practice your spitting. I spit whenever I want to taste more than I want to drink.

Bummer, Danny. Hope that’s the only trigger. Or alternatively if it’s frequent enough something can be done.

Spitting helps for larger events. Less useful for a single bottle at home but if Danielle is drinking and the bottle can be stretched 3 days?

Not fun Danny. I know you explained your symptoms to me when in Montréal, and your objective of drinking less alcohol to reduce the effect. I guess i'll get to that point to, one day.

This is something to bring you down a bit, knowing you enjoy and appreciate wine, and with a cellar i guess it is still having many great bottles in it!

For the Serilhan, i think i had it once in the past, can't remember the vintage, but remember it left me a good impression.
