2019 Leoville Barton
Re: 2019 Leoville Barton
Inky royal purple color. Nose is blackberry pie, herbal and chocolatey. Hard to say how a young wine could find better balance. Incredibly pure fruit, acid, fine tannins and structured. Black and blue fruited and graphitic. A little tar and anise. Beautiful and long finish. Near the top of the 2019s I've had so far.
Thinking this is a drink more soon or lay down for a while situation.
Seemed most open for business in the first four hours. Tightened up a bit after that.
14 percent abv.
96 pts for me.

Nice note. Tasted this at the UGC several years back and this is a great Barton.

Wow, what a report! I can imagine how Léo Barton + 2019 must be stunning!
I opened a 2019 last night too, and it was great too. Will report on a different thread.

Thanks for the report, Mike, I am in no way surprised that 2019 + Leoville Barton excelled, it’s as consistent a performer as I’ve seen in my entire Bordeaux tasting career and 2019 is as good a vintage. As I reported a few weeks back, the 2019 Langoa was my favorite ever.
