Five bottles just delivered from Flickinger, now safely stored in the cellar.
They appear pristine, with spinning capsules....
I'll be drinking well when I am 125 years old....

Jim, you may be drinking 89' LB at 125 years but it won't be any of those bottles. Those will be gone by 70 at the latest 😆

Ha Gerry, I was discussing this with Joel the other night, it is weird how the '89 Lynch seems to have closed down even more in recent years. I'll probably hold off on them for at least five years.

WoW, nicely done Jim. The 1989 Lynch Bages is always of amazing interest, at least each time I had a pour of it.

I know JeanFred has a bottle. I think the one time he taste it, it was in 2017 at the Thursday night dinner of the BWE convention. That night, the 1989 Pichon Baron won over the 1989 Lynch Bages… but like always, the result of the voting was unclear…

I still say this will be a 200 year wine Nicola, I think you were standing there in Montreal when JM Cazes's daughter told us the '89 was her father's favorite vintage. To me it is the ultimate Pauillac. I now have six bottles. They don't give them away anymore, these will likely be my last six.

;)

It would be a good option Nicolas on September this year…

I had a great bottle with Stuart last August and the wine was still young and fabulous.

It's generally over $500 these days, Claudius, these 5 bottles went for $407 each.

For such a winecjow aged 35 I suppose that $407 is quite reasonable. Sorry I did not buy last year - could have got a good but. Oh well m.

Nicola and I met JM Cases's daughter in Montreal and she said the '89 Lynch was her father's favorite vintage. I've had it over 100 times. It is the most perfect wine ever produced. It is the epitome of lead pencil cedar cassis Pauillac.
