Next Spring: 25th anniversary celebrations in France and Washington DC.

Just thinking out loud, not that I see BWE ending any time soon but I think as we've all reached our long plateaus of maturity and have maybe slowed down our drinking and partying habits just a bit, I've been wondering if there might be any interest in a "last hurrah" type celebration of BWE next spring, perhaps trying to recreate something approximating that 2020 trip to Bordeaux that was cancelled by Covid, and a weekend stateside in what will be President Trump's capital.

Just thinking out loud, still a year to hash it over....

Personally I have no interest in a France BWE trip, but I would certainly be interested in getting BWE folks together in DC. The DC crew has done a great job of putting events together and its an easy place for many to get to.

For my part, I would have interest in both formula. I have had a couple Offline diner and it always a pleasure to see BWE folks, and there is a long time I have didn’t see the group.

For the formula, something in May would be better me, sound more France BWE trip, knowing I will be at Boston on april the 21th 2025 ;)

It would be good to replicate France 2025. We could use the original line up as a reference as most estates said we should come back when the coast was clear. It would also be fun to do a dinner containing most/all of the BWE wotys. Whether that be in Trump DC or in France.

I like it Mr Flaneur, my trial schedule is a little tricky into March 2025, usually we have done the annual BWE conventions around April 1st, very preliminarily and without looking up religious holidays etc I’m wondering how Thursday April 3 to Sunday April 6, 2025, looks for the Trump USA convention and May 2025 for France? I do like the idea of starting with the template of what we had scheduled in 2020 and see how much of it can be recreated. Again, just thinking out loud.

So much great people and memories!

For my part, i will focus on attending the 2025 DC event.

For France, i will go in 2025 with the whole family probably end of June, for 2-3 weeks, so if the France event is around that time, i can probably do something to attend a few days…

Jim,

Nice walk down memory lane but just a small sampling. My heart says I'd love to have a go at France 25 but my brain says it's doubtful. We'll see how things unfold over the next months. Spain I must say has been rejuvenating! Feeling much better bur a ways to go yet. Regardless I can still dream.

I could be getting ideas above my station but I think the 2015 Bordeaux trip was the best holiday of my life epitomised by this photo at Ch Du Tertre on Monday 18 May
