Bill, we are getting killed with porn spammers. I've been cleaning up the posts and almost hit the "ban" button on you before reading your post...

I think we need to close the automatic registration process for new members and require a sign-off by a moderator before anyone new to the forum can post. I've emailed Phil to ask for his help on this.

They just keep registering under new usernames and IP addresses. It will probably fill the front page again by tomorrow AM. This can't be an attempt to drive traffic to their site. It must be malicious. Wonder if Jim pissed off someone in the Russian mob? Maybe a disgruntled client?!?!?

I agree, it did seem like an attack. Thankfully, it stop or the automatic signup was terminated.

It did seem to stop. But we haven't turned off registration. I was able to create new account to post this message. I did delete every new user with a suspicious looking name and zero posts going back about 6 months. Maybe that slowed them down, or maybe they just gave up when they saw we started deleting them as fast as they were posting them.
