TN: 2007 Domaine La Garrigue Ctes du Rhne Cuve Romaine

Post by JimHow »

  • 2007 Domaine La Garrigue Ctes du Rhne Cuve Romaine - France, Rhne, Southern Rhne, Ctes du Rhne (1/27/2009)
I bought a few bottles of this from PJs. Sipping on it before dinner, it seems to have nice body and ripeness, a nice spicy character, lovely deep purple color. Not a bad little wine for twelve bucks. Let's see how it performs during dinner....
...This wine finished strong. I'm so inexperienced in Rhones I'm reluctant to describe it, but it had everything I'm looking for in wine... Nice body, balance, ripeness, and the 14% alcohol didn't seem to interfere. Nothing thin or short about it. Definitely worthy of the high RMP rating, I think he gave it 90 points. I'll score it 90 points too. (90 pts.)

Ratfarts, pardon my French, but what browser were you using? I'm trying to figure out why it messed up your extended characters.

Crud. OK, the accents work in FireFox (and I suspect Safari and Chrome). It's always IE...

I have an idea for how to fix, but it's a bit of a PITA. Give me a day or so. No changes required from Phil, purely on my end.

Hi Eric

It looks like the accented characters aren't being displayed at all in FF3 or IE7.

In fact I've just looked in the database and they're not in their either, so they're getting lost somewhere along the line.

Yes, there were a few notes where there was an encoding glitch in IE. My fix won;t change the already posted messages such as this one. But look at David Glasser's Beaucastel post. He posted an 88 Pichon Lalande note yesterday from IE with roached characters, I made my fix, and then his newly posted Beaucastel note came through fine.
