Sipping on this now waiting for my gourmet mac and cheese with ham to come out of the oven. This is all fuel for tomorrow's Town Challenge race #3. Straight out of a 55 degree cellar. No refrigeration. It's got an appley, waxy nose. Oily, but not quite unctuous texture. Plenty of sweetness but this wine also has good acidity and a firmness you might not expect from a hot climate white. Also for some reason this wine always evokes popcorn. Maybe just a touch of butter. Orville Reddenbacher Light. I've got some broccoli too. Not in the wine, in the microwave. Must have my greens.

This is even better as it approaches room temp. My thermostat is set to 62, btw. The bouquet now is much more like perfume. Maybe incense. Or jasmine tea coming in there. It also seems perfumey in the mouth. Sweet and lilting. It's a shame this guy died. This was one Parker get that I fully subscribe to.
