Any locals volunteering yet to accept wine shipments in advance? I would greatly prefer to ship my wine to Chicago in advance than check it on the flight out.

Great! I'm looking forward to seeing your lovely spousal unit again Chris!

Like Ed I'd like to ship my bottles, including the '89 Lynch 3L, ahead of time as well....

That leaves about three spaces remaining, so anyone who is planning had better book immediately!
I think we may have a little flexibility to add a few more if we exceed 40, but our goal is to keep it in the vicinity of 40.
Also, if you want to get the $99 Affinia Hotel deal I think you have to book by February 24th, which is coming up quickly!

Just a thought: Would the hotel or the restaurant accept the wine shipment? If they do, it might make things easier. I don't know the wine shipping law in Chicago. Anyone knows?

Werner,

I will be downtown later today. If I have time, I will stop by the hotel and speak to them about the possibility of shipping wines there.

I did stop at the Affinia hotel this afternoon and talked to one of the managers about the idea of having people ship wine to the hotel. The manager said they are open to the idea, but the manager wants to investigate whether they have adequate storage that would not be too warm. I expect to hear back in a day or so. If this is an option, I will post instructions on a new thread devoted just to that topic.

Just an FYI, they currently have 15 rooms booked under the code name that Howard set up. So it looks like we have met the minimum.

Thanks, Jon.

I did email Kila a few days ago asking about the same topic. She asked from what states the wine shipping were. They have to know because different states have different laws about the wine shipping. I was going to ask folks here from where their shipping are but got busy till today to check our site.

I start here first:
1. California

Other states could be placed under.

Werner,

That is interesting that they were interested in the state. I know that in the wine "business" there are differences by state. But this is personal belongings being shipped. I would think that as long as someone is willing to ship it on your end, they should not care where it is coming from. Just my view. Any lawyers care to chime in?
