98 La Dominique has been uncorked!

Nice ruby color. Nose of high toned red fruits dominate with a bit and coffee. The wine is quite and pleasing, not overly done. My cellar is quite cold, so we'll see what changes as the wine warms to a more drinkable temperature.

The kids are down, and the steaks are out. The nose is now adding a spicy note and the palette is filling out nicely. The finish is surprisingly long.

not disappointing tonight Jim. I certainly think the Dominique is at peak and drinking quite nicely.

Wow, great timing. I just pulled one of these thinking about it for either tomorrow or Friday. Thanks!

I can imagine that the 98 La Dominique is very good. Thanks for reporting eric. It has been too long, since the last time we saw each other, at Steve H place.

The bad thing for me is that I have only one Right Bank from the 1998 vintage : Troplong Mondot. That's it. Too bad for me.

Unfortunately the bottle I opened on Friday never really came around in the 2-3 hours I followed it. Felt like it needed another 5 years at least. Ah well...
